Last Trip To Vegas
I'm not long back from Las Vegas and as ever had a wonderful time.Weather was amazingly hot for thistime of year mid 70's. I have been to Las Vegas so many times now but there's so much to do I still haven't done all the things I set out to do! However this time I did something I have wanted to do for many years and that was to go to see Penn and Teller at the Rio. These world famous magicians are are not only amazing,but totally unique!
I was lucky enough to be on stage with the guys as they performed the 'big' mind boggling trick of the night. I had to pick a joke from a joke book (not letting them know which one of course) read it over to myself and then eventually read it aloud to the audience. Now the trick was, I was to read out the joke until I got to the punchline and then the audience were going to read out the punchline to me -
without knowing what joke I had picked, word for word! I know it sounds bizarre and it was! I thought my heart was going to explode out of my top - not because I was nervous but incase I had picked the wrong joke and I would screw up the trick!!!!! How crazy is that - I'm busy worrying about the reputation of two of the worlds best magicians and these guys have done this every night for years! As you might expect everything went just as it should. I read the joke. Stopped before the punchline and then to my amazment the audience shouted out the rest of the joke! How did the audience know what to say? Well the two master magicians were standing behind me, holding a big banner up with the punchline to the joke and right on cue the audience read it aloud. Now how did Penn and Teller know what joke I was going to pick - well that's were the magic comes in!
